This program prepares students to pursue a career as visual artists or in other creative fields. This is achieved by studying practical and theoretical courses developed in conjunction with the arts industry. This is a studio based program taught by known contemporary artists. Students will learn to work as professional and exhibiting art practitioners within the arts industry.
This course is delivered by LaTrobe College of Art and Design. It enables students to gain a thorough practical and theoretical introduction to contemporary visual art, with choices from painting methods to video &photography.Students will learn and develop a range of skills, be exposed to the exciting world of visual art practice, receive ongoing advice and begin to shape a personal direction in visual art.

Small class sizes, one-on-one teaching, fully equipped digital and art studios are further enhanced with the annual New York Art Tour, exhibiting and practice with the LaTrobe Street Gallery and drawing / studio projects in regional Victoria held at the Union Bank Art Centre in Clunes.

Who can apply?

Students who have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent.
Mature age applicants

International students who have achieved:
- equivalent educational standards.
- 5.5 IELTS or equivalent.
