The student placement program for the Diploma of Graphic Design has proven to be a great experience for those studying at I.D.E.A. Many new partnerships have been formed with the print and online advertising industries giving students valuable experience and knowledge about how their skills translate into a finished product.

Care has been taken in selecting organisations that are at the forefront of their fields and in placing students within hosts that have similar visions and expertise to student’s particular passions. Both National and International agencies have had our students work on 'briefs' that have resulted in finished art going to market giving students portfolios that boast current campaign pieces.

These results can be put down to the relevance of course material and quality of teaching, enabling the students to hit the ground running.

In placing the students in host organisations that align with their talents and interests and given that they are now completing their Diplomas, the pathway and transition into full time work has been well laid.

The variety of placements available to students have allowed for some broad exposure to how the role of a Graphic Designer operates within different industries. These have included placements in agencies and design companies that have given briefs to our students to produce work for:
-  Catalogues
-  Annual Reports
-  Brochures
-  Signage
-  Web Sites
-  Print
-  Campaigns
-  Wine Labels
-  Logo design
-  Advertising
